The team is looking for sponsors!!

.

The UBC Steel Bridge Team is looking forward to building upon last year’s success and is again looking for local support to compete at the regional competition. Any funds raised will be put towards administrative costs, the design & analysis of the bridge, fabrication, and transportation of the structure to the competition. Contributions may also alleviate some of the team’s travel expenses to the regional competition in Seattle, Washington and the national competition in Clemson, South Carolina.

Remaining funds will be used to outfit the team with some type of distinguishing apparel to display our sponsors’ support and to demonstrate team unity at the competition. Our sponsors will have the opportunity to have their logo prominently displayed on the shirts. Additionally, sponsors will have their organization’s logo displayed on the team display poster, which will be set up next to the bridge for the duration of the competition. For more information on sponsorship levels, please refer to the Sponsors page.

Results from 2010-11 competition

.

In 2011, the team attended the Pacific Northwest Regional Competition in Anchorage, Alaska at University of Alaska Anchorage. Out of sixteen competing teams, the UBC team placed second, earning a spot at the National Competition at University of Texas A&M. Unfortunately at the nationals, we were disqualified due to the failure in "lateral test". The disqualification was a tremendous disappointment for the entire team but we will learn from this defeat and aspire to do better in the 2011-12 competition.

Congratulations to the Lakehead University who won the 2010-11 nationals! For further results, please visit: http://www.aisc.org/content.aspx?id=780
